At Chatham Orthodontics, Dr. Johnson and her team aim to create unlimited smiles by providing affordable, yet exceptional orthodontic care to children and adults. We are proud to maintain the highest standard of excellence and professionalism in all aspects of our patient-centered practice. We continually work to create a positive experience beyond our patient’s expectations. Chatham Orthodontics is well trained and equipped to service those who desire tooth alignment and correct occlusion using traditional metal braces, discreet ceramic brackets or clear aligner therapy- in addition to various orthodontic appliances to aid in growth. Our office is fully compliant with the laws and health regulations set forth for dental professionals in the state of North Carolina.

We strive only for excellence, as we believe that your smile is a direct reflection of our practice. Every patient in our practice is unique. Therefore, we are committed to the implementation of customized orthodontic care to create exceptional and timeless smiles. Research has shown that select patients can benefit from orthodontic treatment prior to the eruption of all permanent teeth. Early treatment in these situations may allow for more favorable overall treatment outcomes by guiding a child’s growth to aid in the correction of specific problems. On the other hand, the treatment of many patients can be effectively consolidated into a shorter period by commencing orthodontic care after the eruption of all permanent teeth.

The removal of select permanent teeth as an adjunct to orthodontic treatment has been debated since it was suggested almost one hundred years ago. Dr. Johnson believes that many malocclusions can be treated successfully without extractions. However, for the treatment of specific malocclusions, removal of select permanent teeth is appropriate. This allows the teeth to be straightened effectively to an esthetic, functional and stable smile. The need for permanent tooth removal will be assessed with careful analysis of the diagnostic records and the treatment options will be discussed in detail prior to treatment.

Parents are encouraged to be involved in their child’s orthodontic treatment. Questions or concerns will be addressed promptly, whether before, during, or after the treatment has been rendered. We want you to have confidence in our ability to provide you and your family with optimal orthodontic treatment and feel comfortable in recommending us to your friends and family.
